Great product and delivery was as scheduled. Currently using the product on my Dell laptop. Thanks.
So when it finaly stoped working I wanted the same thing but was not willing to pay the astronomical amount radio shack wants for it.I found it here for way less and bought it. I First bought this product 3 years ago at radio shack and payed over [.]. This is awesome. Got it home and plugged it in and I was up and running again. bucks for it. The first week I had it the computer fell on the floor and cracked the card I taped it together and it still worked for 3 years. The reason I like this one better than the others they have out there is 1) The price on amazon just cant be beat.2) The booster on this thing is great. Tried it with out it and its so SLOW.3)It so easy to install just put in disk and put card in slot on computer and follow instruction so easy.
I spent 4 days (about 1-3 hours per day)with phone tech support unable to solve this problem. Although I love Linksys routers, this wireless adapter card for notebooks was a nightmare. They finally did me the "favor" of charging me ten dollars to control my pc remotely, only to ultimately tell me there is nothing they can do and I should return the product. My gateway pc met all the system requirements, however the adapter required an additional driver update from gateway that was not listed. The adapter froze my computer and I was unable to uninstall the adapter. And they never refunded the ten dollars. This product may be in fact great, but be wary of hidden driver updates and terrible tech support.
With this card, I seem to drop out every few minutes (which is a shame because my other cards are still only 802.11b and this one supports WPA instead of the weaker WEP). I don't know if subsequent revisions may be improved). We have several wireless computing devices on our 802.11b/g home network. (This is for the Version 2 adapter. As a result of the drop outs it's all but useless for connecting to my office VPN when I'm working at home, given the hassle of reconnecting to it. Of all these devices, this card has (by far) the most reception problems no matter where you place it. I have a Dell laptop for my work and I can put two other cards in it and almost never lose connection. A relatively ancient Belkin card I have, on the other hand, locks on to any decent wireless signal. Unfortunately the old Belkin only supports WEP and is only 11 Mbps, but it shows that the drop outs on this Linksys card aren't a result of weak signals.Maybe subsequent revisions of this card got it right, but when I can't pull in more than about 30% signal strength with consistency and lose connection every few minutes, it's not really anything I can recommend in the revision I own.
Like brand new, received it in the original box, software included. It works like a charm. The price was unbelievably reasonable. WOW.
